When a hedge is overgrown, untidy and sparse at the bottom, then the solution to rejuvenate your hedge is the ancient art of hedge-laying.  All the waste material is removed and the best material kept to form the new hedge.  By layering, fresh shoots will occur along the length of the branches to fill the hedge.

The best time to lay your hedge is during winter months.
